Comments
NOAA's Orion departed to Shannon where it will be based for the next few weeks.  The Luke Air A330 departed to Doha tonight and the Aer Lingus A330 has gone into Hangar 3 for painting in the new livery.  United used a 767 instead of the usual 787-10 on the Newark service and the aircraft is scheduled to depart westbound tomorrow after crew rest.

The NOAA Lockheed Orion is surely the most interesting visitor for many a year! It diverted in from Shannon after two missed approaches there due to heavy fog and is now parked on the west apron.  It is one of two specially modified Orions operated by The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration based in Florida.  Also known as "Hurricane Hunters" they are used to monitor and study hurricanes and other severe storms, the quality of the atmosphere, oceanographic conditions, and climate trends.  I believe the last Orion to visit Dublin was a US Navy example in September 1996.
